Zem Zembik was born in Hilo, Hawai'i in 1932 and went to the mainland after graduating from High School. He then served in the U.S. Navy and U.S. Air Force. He later became an artist and opening his own art gallery, "House of Fine Arts." He also held a black belt in Judo. Later in life, he lived in the Southwest and painted desert and Southwest scenes. Zembik passed away June 25, 2016 in Las Vegas.
