Bob Byerley paints with a loving hand his portraits of children that are all unique due to their creative compositions and exquisite details. Growing up in Kansas City, Missouri, Bob Byerley showed early aptitude in both music and the fine arts. When he went to college, Byerley eschewed both of these interests and became a premed student. Part of his degree requirement at the University of Missouri was to take three credit hours of fine arts, and taking "Introduction to Art" in his junior year reminded him of his love of art. Bob Byerley then switched concentrations and received his Bachelors and Masters in Art from the University of Missouri at Columbia. When Byerley turned 30, he began to paint full-time. The focus of his paintings was at first primarily still lives, but in the late 1980's, he switched to painting children. He understands the innocence and unlimited imagination of his subjects and he captures those qualities masterfully in his works of art. His style, attention to detail and endearing subject matter combine to create images so intriguing you can feel trouble coming by the twinkle of a young man's eye or you can hear the laughter of a group of children playing on a warm summer day. Bob Byerley has gained international recognition for his art. His original oil paintings and limited edition prints are among the most sought after art by any Americana artist today. The portraits of children by Bob Byerly have gained him international renown.
