Says the artist, "I have been an artist as long as I can remember. An early family photo shows me at about four years old, at the living room coffee table, already with a paint brush in hand. Creating art has never been a conscious choice or option. Rather, it is a unique wellspring of creativity that truly defines me as a person. The process of creating art comes as naturally to me as spoken language. I was born and raised in Southern California. Fascinated by stories about Hawai'i and the islands of the South Seas and the Caribbean, I often dreamed of living and working in the tropics and at age 19, I sailed from California to Hawai'i on a 30-foot sailboat. The I hired on with the famous Windjammer Cruises. It was a dream job! I sailed through a series of tropical paradises, and in my spare time, I continued to draw and paint impressions of what I saw. It was during that period that my unique painting style began to develop. Later, I relocated to Honduras and worked on a private sailing charter boat in the Bay Islands, where I continued to recored my experiences on canvas and paper. I continue working my artistic skills and enjoy seeing the changes over the years. My deep respect for the beauty and diversity of nature, and my lifelong interest in travel to exotic locales, is evident in the painterly depictions of the verdant foliage, sparkling waters, lush colors, and the quiet scenes of everyday life in Hawai'i. My colorful paintings, drawings and murals are represented in numerous public and private fine art collections throughout the world. I love on the beautiful, magical island of Maui and continue to enjoy various exotic travel venues that continue to inspire and enhance my creativity."
